J.K. Rowling est surtout connue comme l’auteur des sept livres Harry Potter, publiés entre 1997 et 2007. Les aventures de Harry, Ron et Hermione, dont le succès ne se dément pas, se sont vendues à plus de 500 millions d’exemplaires, ont été traduites dans plus de 80 langues et ont fait l’objet de huit films à succès. Parallèlement à la série Harry Potter, elle a également écrit trois courts volumes d’accompagnement pour des œuvres caritatives : Quidditch Through the Ages et Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, au profit de Comic Relief et Lumos, et The Tales of Beedle the Bard, au profit de Lumos. J.K. Rowling a collaboré avec le dramaturge Jack Thorne et le metteur en scène John Tiffany pour poursuivre l’histoire de Harry dans une pièce de théâtre, Harry Potter et l’enfant maudit, qui a débuté à Londres en 2016 et est actuellement à l’affiche dans le monde entier.
